Preview:
Afghanistan will take on Zimbabwe in the 2nd of the 3 match T20I series on Friday. Afghanistan looked a completely professional unit in the 1st T20I and they beat Zimbabwe by 48 runs to go 1-0 up in the series. Young wicketkeeper batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz’s 87 runs from 45 balls set up the tone for Afghanistan initially with the bat and later Rashid Khan’s 3 fer and Karim Janat’s economic spell helped Afghanistan to take an early lead in the series.
With two matches still left in the series, Afghanistan are looking really strong at the moment and are likely to whitewash the inexperienced Zimbabwe side. Meanwhile, Zimbabwe didn’t have the answer for the complete team performance from the Afghanistan side, as they lost the match by 48 runs. They missed a trick by sending the opposition to bat first.
Their bowlers were all over the place and couldn’t control the run flow with the ball. They were going well with the required run-rate in the first 10 overs but not enough big hitters, in the end, cost the match for them. With not much time left in the series, they need to bounce back in the 2nd match to level the series 1-1.
AFG vs ZIM Weather Report for 2nd T20I:
It will be a sunny afternoon here in Abu Dhabi with the temperature ranging between 28 and 30 degrees Celsius and the humidity will be 44 percent. There is no chance of precipitation for this match.
Pitch Condition/Report:
Chasing 180 plus target is always a difficult task to achieve on this surface. The track might get slow down in the latter part of the match. Spinners will be really handy on this surface. Having said that, it’s still a good batting wicket where batters can score runs freely. Anything above 170 will be a good competitive score on this surface.
