Afridi departs on a duck, Mohammad Kaif shares a cheeky message for him

The Indian and the Pakistani cricketers are known for their fierce rivalry on the field. However, off the field, they share great bonhomie with each other. Recently, several players of the two nations competed in the St. Moritz Ice Cricket tournament. After the game, former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif had a cheeky message for former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi.

Playing cricket on ice seemed like an improbable proposition. However, this particular tournament just proved everyone wrong. The Palace Diamonds, led by Virender Sehwag, took on the Shahid Afridi-led Royals. The Royals managed to win the game owing to a brisk fifty from Owais Shah. But in the game, Mohammad Kaif managed to get an edge over Shahid Afridi.

Kaif, who was a part of the Sehwag’s team, caught Shahid Afridi off the bowling of Ramesh Powar in the game. Afridi had to walk back to the pavilion with a score of duck to his name. Albeit Afridi had the last laugh as his team won the match, Kaif had a cheeky message to share with Afridi after the game.

Kaif, drawing reference to the playing days of the two cricketers, mentioned that Afridi found the wrong fielder yet again. This was in reference to the fact that Kaif has caught Afridi on quite a few occasions in international cricket before. He further sent his good wishes to Afridi for the latter’s win in the match.

Talking about the match, the Palace Diamonds batted first and posted a decent 164/9 in their 20 overs. Skipper Sehwag top scored with 62 off 31 deliveries and Andrew Symonds hit 40 off 30 balls. Abdul Razzaq was the pick of the bowlers for Royals with figures of 4/18 in his four overs. In the run chase, the Royals were guided home by Owais Shah’s unbeaten 74 off 34 deliveries. They chased the total with 6 wickets in hand and 28 balls to spare.
