S Sreesanth was a colourful character on the ground during his playing days. From dancing on the pitch to mocking Andre Nel after hitting him for a six in a Test to crying after reportedly getting slapped from Harbhajan Singh during the Indian Premier League, the former Kerala cricketer has seen and done all. The former pacer got banned from cricket in 2013 on charges of spot-fixing during the IPL and has not played since even though there have been instances of interference by the judiciary to lift the ban on him.
Just days before turning 36, Sreesanth has tried his hands in the world of television of late and ended up as the runners-up in Bigg Boss 12 recently. He also has acted in a film by friend Pooja Bhatt though the former cricketer did not get it going in yet another reality show named Khatron Ke Khiladi. On January 20, Sreesanth got evicted from the ongoing ninth edition of the show after host Rohit Shetty and other contestants felt the former underperformed to save Ridhima Pandit.
Sreesanth apparently tried to save his partner Ridhima
Sreesanth was paired with Ridhima, a 28-year-old actress-model, to do one of the daring acts in the show. It was about Ridhima instructing the ex-international cricketer to find his way through electronic laser lights. Whenever Sreesanth touched a laser, both would get an electric shock. Ridhima blanked out midway which did not amuse Sreesanth. She was at fault for she did not give the instructions properly but both were sent to the danger of getting knocked out.
There, Sreesanth apparently took a long time deliberately so that his partner got saved and was knocked out. The other contestants criticized him for letting the opportunity go while Shetty looked upset over losing a strong candidate. Sreesanth though said he was failed by his luck, reported The Indian Express.
Sreesanth was the second contestant to get the boot from the adventure show after Avika Gor, a young television actress. After the dual evictions, the contestants who have remained in the show are Aditya Narayan, Vikas Gupta, Aly Goni, Bharti Singh, Haarsh Limbachiyaa, Punit J Pathak, Zain Imam, Jasmin Bhasin besides Ridhima.
