Delhi Capitals saw their huge victory against three-time champions Chennai Super Kings by 44 runs. Young Prithvi Shaw was the showman from the match as he played a brilliant knock of 64 off 43 balls. His thunderous innings were laced by 9 fours and one six as he went on to clinch the player of the match award. On the back on his terrific innings, the DC went on to post a respectable 175/3 on board.

Though Shaw set the tone of the match, he was assisted by his fellow teammates in a decent manner. Rishabh Pant (37), Shikhar Dhawan (35), and skipper Shreyas Iyer’s (26) innings came as a good contribution to the team’s total.

In return, CSK could only put up 131/7 on board and lost their second match in the IPL 2020. It was Faf du Plessis yet again who became the ultimate support of the CSK line up as he scored 43, but it was of no use in front of the huge target.

Head coach Ricky Ponting gave a post-match dressing room speech

Kagiso Rabada (3/26), Anrich Nortje (2/21), and Axar Patel (1/18) got dominant over the middle-order of CSK, and the side collapsed ultimately. After Shaw’s heroics, DC head coach Ricky Ponting poured good words over the young batsman during post-match dressing room speech. He also highlighted how Shaw hit even good deliveries over the ropes and played an essential knock for the team.

The former Australian player also admired Shaw’s back foot and front foot play and said this is how he needs to maintain it during the entire tournament. A video on Twitter showed a glimpse of his speech but what caught fan’s attention was Shaw’s listless look. Shaw was sitting in the corner of the room with his headphones on the neck and the youngster looked clueless when Ponting showered him with all the praise.

It felt like he was busy analyzing his innings all this while. Seeing his reaction, Twitterati went mad and came up with several funny comments.
