The date 5th of September every year is a day belongs to all the Teachers in the world. Be it in the field of education, sports or arts, a good teacher always lays the stepping stone and foundation towards greatness. Without the contribution of teacher’s or Gurus in life, one would forever remain hollow throughout.
The greatest batsman ever produced by the country, Sachin Tendulkar has always credited and respected the role his coach played during his journey towards greatness. Indian Cricketer MS Dhoni also has held high regards for his coach Keshav Banerjee for his support during his childhood days. Fellow Mumbaikar, Ajinkya Rahane also paid tribute to his Guru and former Indian International Pravin Amre, on the auspicious occasion of Teachers Day.
“I would like to dedicate this Teachers’ Day to Pravin Amre; especially because of the way he has supported me and backed me during my tough times! I still remember this one particular incident – I wasn’t able to score enough runs, as a result feeling a bit low on confidence,” quoted Ajinkya Rahane according to his blog at Khelomore.

“And then out of blue I get a call from Amre sir; he wasn’t even my coach at that time, and said to me, ‘This isn’t the time to be sitting at home; get up, come, let us start you on your nets. Hard work is what is in your hands, and you should not be afraid of it. You are a very good batsman and you should be spending your time in the nets and playing matches!’. What a boost of confidence I got! I really played well in my very next match and I haven’t looked back ever since!” added the Indian batsman while describing the role Amre played in his International career.
