Ajinkya Rahane gets ready for the final against Mumbai Indians

After a long journey of 59 matches, the IPL has come down to the one last clash. Rising Pune Supergiant will take on Mumbai Indians at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The big encounter is expected to be a cracker as the two teams have played some outstanding cricket this season. The opening batsman of RPS Ajinkya Rahane seems all geared up ahead of the ultimate encounter.

He posted a photo on Instagram where he can be seen wiping his training shoes with the other equipment like bats, pads, gloves and helmet lying around him. He tagged the pic with the caption “Getting ready for the finals. #rpsg #ipl10” which shows that he is all geared up for the final.

Rahane hasn’t been in the best of forms this season as he managed 338 runs in 15 matches at an average of 24.14. He hasn’t looked close to his usual best but did find some form in the first Qualifier against MI. He scored 56 off 43 balls that included 5 fours and a six. It was his knock that provided the stability to the innings after the two quick wickets. He added 80 runs for the 3rd wicket alongside his skipper Steve Smith that propelled RPS to a competitive total.

It comes as a great news for RPS to have both the openers in form before the big final. They will also take heart from their record against MI this season. They have got the better of the neighboring franchise in the previous three clashes this year. They won both the league matches at home and away and then emerged victorious in the first Qualifier as well. MI won the Eliminator against Kolkata Knight Riders and once again will meet RPS in the summit clash.

Although RPS have got the number of MI this year but the equation of the final won’t be the same as the three previous clashes between the teams. The match will be played in Hyderabad that has produced some high scoring encounters, something the Mumbai-based franchise is more accustomed to.
