Ajinkya Rahane reveals the tools of his trades

India’s middle order and standby opening batsman Ajinkya Rahane, in a recent interview, unboxed his cricket kit to show its contents. From gloves to sunscreen lotion, Rahane carried all the tools of his trade in an organized manner. Rahane is currently gearing up for the upcoming Australian series starting on September 17.

Rahane has been India’s number 5 batsman in Tests and for quite awhile now, as people compare him with the likes of VVS Laxman. But, Rahane has not been able to consistently feature in the Indian lineup despite contributing in coloured clothing. He is expected to open the batting with the unavailability of Shikhar Dhawan.

When the Indian batsman unveiled the contents of his kit bag, it takes care of all requirement a cricketer requires during the matches. Rahane stressed the importance of easy access and systematic organization of a variety of items. The Rising Pune Supergiant opener includes the maintenance of an organized kit bag as a matter of preparation 0f ahead of the matches.

As a result, he carried as many as 4 pairs of gloves which come in handy under humid conditions. Also, he carries four pieces of willow out which only two are what he termed as Match bats, rest of them come in handy in case something happens to the willow during the match.

Further, the kit contained a couple of bottles of sunscreen lotions which is a mandatory item when playing in places like Mumbai and Chennai. He let out another kit bag out of it which carried miscellaneous items such as fielding protection, shoe protection, bat tape and headbands.

The other important tools he carried were 10-12 extra padding, a score of bat grips and a collection of bat stickers. BCCI, in their Twitter Handle, captioned, “How does #TeamIndia batsman @ajinkyarahane88 prepare his kit bag ahead of a series?” while posting a link to the video.
