Cricket fans must gear up to get entertained as the Ajman T20 Cup is set to get underway on March 13. While the tournament is based on the Abu Dhabi T10 League, the format will be T20. Young players would be raring to make a mark as the T20 tournament is also a talent-spotting program for Abu Dhabi T10 League.
Hence, an impressive show here can earn players’ contracts in the T10 competition. For the unversed, six teams are plying their trade in the competition namely Delhi Bulls, Deccan Gladiators, Northern Warriors, Bangla Tigers, Maratha Arabians, and Ajman Heroes.
Ajman T20 Cricket Cup to be played in the round-robin format
As far as the format is concerned, all teams will meet each other once in the league stage, and the top four will qualify for the knock-out stage. Subsequently, two semi-finals will be played with the summit clash being scheduled to take place on March 22.
Meanwhile, expectations are pretty high from the competition as UAE cricket has been making steady strides in recent years. Several players from the Middle East nation would also be determined to make a mark a mark at a significant level. The Ajman T20 Cricket Cup is certainly a great platform for those individuals as the qualified cricketers presented to the Player Management Council for assessment. The best players will subsequently get a chance to advance their careers and play alongside national-level seniors.
Founder of Abu Dhabi T10, Shaji Ul Mulk also believes the competition can amplify the raw talent in the nation. “The UAE has seen tremendous growth in the cricket community; the Ajman Cricket Council is working proactively to nurture the region’s raw talent and fortify them for the international stage. We wish to create an infrastructure where players can healthily challenge themselves, reach their full potential, and leverage Abu Dhabi T10’s extensive platform,” said Mulk.
