Add to the list of names who have featured their all-time XIs in the last month or so the name of former English wicket-keeper batsman Alec Stewart. He was known for his cover drives and pull shots. Stewart was pushed to the top by the management and scored over 3000 runs as an opener for England and 8463 runs overall in his Test career that spanned for 133 Tests.

His squad is full of legends and has picked Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne ahead of everyone else to lead his team. Stewart has picked one of England’s best batsmen ever Graham Gooch and West Indian Desmond Haynes as the opening batters.

Following them are the legends Martin Crowe, Brian Lara and Sachin Tendulkar. He has also included one of Australia’s most successful and dominant captains and batsmen Steve Waugh to add more quality to his batting unit. Another Australia in the form of wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist is a part of the team and will of course, keep the wickets.

The bowling unit that he has decided to go with is a 3-1 combination with three faster bowlers and just one spinner. Stewart decided to trust the legends in the bowling department as well. He has two of West Indies’ best bowlers and the sultan of swing from Pakistan. Bowling great Wasim Akram is the first fast bowler. He has another exceptional bowler Malcolm Marshall for company. The third pacer is another West Indian Curtly Ambrose.
