The 11th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been nothing short of spectacular. On the field, the likes of Ambati Rayudu and Suryakumar Yadav have come to the fore, off the field the broadcaster Star Sports has made the event more exciting with the set of panellists that they have invited on the show.

In the pre-match show last night, Star Sports featured Alia Bhatt who is promoting her movie ‘Raazi’ alongside cricketing greats such as Brett Lee and Irfan Pathan. The actress talked and promoted the movie while also revealing her favourite cricket experiences.

However, the highlight of the show was Lee’s duet musical with the actress. He surprised Alia with his voice, and also their collaboration was very spontaneous. Further, the actress wasted no time talking about her favourite cricketing moments from the current IPL while she adored KKR’s young pacer Shivam Mavi.

Who would make a fabulous spy?

When asked about her views on which cricketer would make a good spy, the actress said: “I think Mahendra Singh Dhoni would make a fabulous spy. His facial expressions are totally on point. For me Dhoni is perfect for the role of a spy”

The viewers were also given an exclusive peek into the actress first-period film ‘Raazi.’ Alia’s role in the movie is of a 20-year-old spy from the 1970’s.

She also commended the way IPL has given multiple opportunities to youngsters to showcase their talent on the biggest stage possible. “The tournament is a very ‘parivarik’ experience which involves the entire family in a bundle of entertainment”, added the actress.

“The best part about VIVO IPL is the fact that it gives a spectacular opportunity to youngsters to showcase their talent by giving them a really big opportunity,” said a happy Alia while talking about the tournament.
