Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who has been associated with the Chennai Super Kings franchise for the past decade, did the unthinkable on his social media account. He deleted all of his posts related to the IPL 2021 and 2022 campaigns with CSK from his official Instagram account and left everyone stunned by the move.

Notably, the all-rounder was appointed CSK’s captain earlier this year but withdrew midway through as captaincy had an impact on his personal performance. It was MS Dhoni, who decided to hand over the baton to Jadeja after captaining the side for 12 seasons, but it did not work out as planned for the team as CSK lost most of the fixtures under Jadeja’s leadership.

After Dhoni took back the charge again, Jadeja was shortly ruled out of the tournament owing to an injury and that was the incident that sparked rumours of rift between Jadeja and the CSK team management. But the franchise denied the news saying that they were false. Even till date, CSK’s Instagram page posts congratulatory messages for the all-rounder for his achievements in the international arena.

In 2022, Jadeja had one of his poorest IPL seasons. His captaincy of the Chennai Super Kings resulted in the team losing its first four games, and in the ten matches he played before exiting, he only scored 116 runs and took five wickets. Nevertheless, he was brilliant in his comeback match against England.

Jadeja smashed a brilliant ton at Edgbaston in the rescheduled fifth Test against the Three Lions which was played between July 1 and July 5. He is also a part of India’s squad for the ongoing white-ball series against England and the two teams are yet to play two T20Is and three ODIs.

After scoring a ton against England, Jadeja had addressed a press conference and was asked about his stint at the IPL. In response, he mentioned that he had kept that in the past and the league was not on his mind. He had mentioned that his focus was to play for his nation and that is what he will be keeping in his mind on moving forward.
