Allrounder Sachith Pathirana has been included in the Sri Lankan One Day International (ODI) squad for the remaining two ODI matches against Australia as veteran batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan bid farewell after the first 3 ODI matches.

The left-arm spinning all-rounder made his debut against Pakistan last year and went on to feature for Sri Lanka in 3 ODI matches claiming 3 wickets. He scored 66 runs from the 3 matches as well. He had a good 2015/16 season in the domestic circuit bagging 45 wickets from 10 matches at an average of 29.62.

Speaking about his inclusion in the side, Sri Lankan captain Angelo Mathews said that he is regarded as a bowling all-rounder in the side. “He’s looked in as a bowling all-rounder and has a good chance of playing tomorrow,” he said.

After the first three ODIs, the hosts Sri Lanka are trailing the 5-match ODI series 1-2. Australia started off with a win in the ODI series but Sri Lanka responded well in the second ODI on a turning track to level the series.
