On Sunday, a thriller of a match was played between Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiant. It was the title deciding match of the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). After winning the toss, Mumbai’s skipper Rohit Sharma decided to bat first. But his decision proved costly as the Pune bowlers wreaked havoc. Jaydev Unadkat and the 17-year old Washington Sundar bowled exceptionally well as Mumbai could manage to get only 129 runs from their 20 overs.

With just 130 to chase, even the optimists in the Mumbai dugout began to think that this might not be their year. Many fans gave up the hope and one among the many was the megastar, Amitabh Bachchan. The legend of Indian cinema was seated in front of his TV set, hoping for a great match. But he was left bewildered after seeing the batters of his favourite team unable to bear the heat of Supergiant’s bowling.

He was extremely disappointed after watching that Mumbai managed to score only 129 runs in 20 overs. It made him jump to the conclusion that the match is all but over. In anger, he switched off his TV set. We cannot blame him for thinking that it would be a cakewalk for Rising Pune Supergiant. But Mumbai’s bowlers proved him wrong as they pulled off a historic win at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

Abhishek informed his father that Mumbai has won

Amitabh was still scratching his head over Mumbai’s woeful batting. But his son Abhishek called him and informed him that Mumbai Indians has pulled off a stellar show at the IPL 10 final. Amitabh expressed his happiness on the micro-blogging site Twitter. He termed the win unbelievable and uploaded a picture of Indians’ players.

In his tweet, he wrote “Had given up on the final of IPL ..switched off at interval .. then Abhishek called and said we won .. UNBELIEVABLE !! YEEAAAAAAAH”.

He also shared a dialogue “Tum apun ko dus maara, apun ek maara par solid mara.” (You had beaten me ten times, but i have hit you one time which was a solid hit)
