The Indian Cricket Team
Great moments are born from great opportunities and that’s what team has earned against the Australians in the semifinal at Sydney. It is a matter of one game; if we played them 10 times at Sydney we might lose 9 but not this game, not on the 26th of March. On the 26th we will fight, grind, challenge them and we will trounce them. We are the World Champion and on the 26th we should play like the greatest cricket team on the planet. This is India’s time; their time is done and dusted! I am sick and tired of listening what a well-balanced team Australian have go out on the pitch and show the world you are a notch better than them.
From the past one month everything else has taken a back seat in our country and the whole nation is relishing the performance of the team in the World Cup. The prowess which whole unit has displayed on the field has been paramount and exceptional to say the least and because of the unblemished performances, team has quickly transformed the pessimism of fans into optimism, the slogan of #WEWONTGIVEITBACK is on the lips of every Indian and the belief that we will become the World Champions again has been restored in the hearts of every aficionado.
It is a matter of putting up two stellar performances and we will be crowned the WORLD CHAMPIONS again! The nation will unite again to Celebrate; the tri color will be waived by the Indians all around the globe in jingoism and the epic scenes at the MARINE DRIVE and INDIA GATE would recur. You people will rewrite the history books by becoming the first Indian team to win consecutive World Cups. Very rarely does it happen that eleven people on field becomes the mood-setter of the nation as the team posses the opportunity to make 1.2 billion people joyful, cheerful and blissful by their performances.
Talent Galore in our batting line-up, Rohit Sharma has the capability to match a team score by him if he gets going and whenever his partner Shikhar Dhawan scores century Indian team wins. The swashbuckling Virat comes next with a ravishing average of 52, Rahane provides the much-needed stability to batting order at number four whereas Raina gives the attacking impetus, after Raina comes the greatest finisher of all time the captain fantastic MS Dhoni and Sir Jadeja provides the much required depth. Our batting line-up is second to none and the most pleasing thing is all of you have fired in one match or the other.
Bowling performance of the team has surprised the whole cricketing fraternity but I am sure you people won’t have surprised yourself as team would have always known what heights it is capable of touching. In spite of lackluster performance in the Tri-Series the self belief which bowlers had among themselves has made the difference and now they have bowled all team out in the World Cup picking up 70 wickets in 7 matches but Australia will be the most equipped team to handle our bowling resources. They will come hard at us and will try to rattle us, they might hit some extravagant strokes against decent deliveries but that should not mean we lose our calm and composure, we must use their tendency of over attacking to our advantage as often there over attacking tactics has proved to be their nemesis in the recent past.
The vigor and liveliness players have shown on the field has been unbelievable and I am sure the players will show the same zeal if not more against the Australians. Remember one piece of brilliance can turn the tie our way as Mohit Sharma crucial run-out against AB De Villiers did.
India Vs Australia Semi Final at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground it just can’t get any bigger than this, this is probably the most important match of most of the player’s career in the team. Remember if you fail at this juncture none will appreciate the work you people have put in to reach thus far, how many of us remember who the semifinalists of the 1983 World Cup were but we all know who the champions were.
We got the better of them in 2007 T-20 World Cup when no one backed us and at the very same ground we trounced them in the 2008 Commonwealth Bank series final, so there is no reason we can’t repeat that now.
You people are a confident bunch of guys well lead by a legendary skipper who exuberates confidence in everything he does on pitch, Go out with the unflustered mind and perform to the best of your ability, I am sure victory will be all ours . Cheers!
