The Indian Premier League is back and its roaring with some thrilling games from Chennai Super Kings. The side has played two games and both of them ended up as nail-biting affairs. CSK is currently on top of the IPL 2018 points table.

The Caribbeans are known for their aggressive and entertaining brand of cricket. The Windies-born KKR all-rounder Andre Russell entertained the Indian cricket fans with his explosive hitting skills last night against the home team Chennai Super Kings. He smacked 11 sixes off CSK bowlers.

One among those 11 sixes went out of the park which resulted in a humongous 105m six, the longest of the 2018 season thus far. What followed the six was the priceless reaction of the team co-owner Shah Rukh Khan. The Bollywood Badshah was stunned to watch the way Russell sent the ball out of the park.

However, Andre Russell’s entertaining knock didn’t help Kolkata Knight Riders as they lost to the home side by 5 wickets, thanks to the all-round efforts of the hosts. Right from Shane Watson to Shardul Thakur, everyone in the CSK side did their bit to take their team to victory.

After the last night’s victory, Shane Watson was awarded the purple cap and Andre Russell received the orange cap for leading the bowling and batting charts respectively. CSK will next play against Kings XI Punjab on Sunday in Mohali. Whereas KKR will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

With the likes of explosive batters Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers, Aaron Finch playing this season’s IPL, we would most likely witness many humongous sixes in the coming days. The tournament’s longest six stands at 124m from Albie Morkel.
