He has finished after winning the T20 World Cup and The Ashes: Justin Langer’s Manager

Justin Henderson, who serves as the manager for Justin Langer said that even as a player, Langer’s career had come to a close on a high after the Australian side won the Ashes 5-0.

Henderson added that Langer’s coaching stint has also come to an end in similar fashion, after Australia have won the 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup and destroyed England 4-0 in the recently concluded Ashes series at home.

“As a player, Justin retired on top after a 5-0 Ashes whitewash. Today, despite the views of a faceless few, he finishes his time as Australian cricket coach winning the T20 World Cup and the Ashes. Lest we forget what JL took over in 2018,” said Henderson in his statement.

Apart from winning the T20 World Cup and The Ashes, the Australian side also qualified for the semi-final stages of the 2019 World Cup that was held in England during Langer’s reign as the head coach.

In an international career that spanned close to a decade and a half, Justin Langer featured in 105 Test matches and 8 ODI matches for the Australian cricket team. While the 51-year-old plundered over 7500 runs in Test cricket at an average of 44.74, he scored 160 runs in the ODI format of the game. Langer also amassed 23 international hundreds in his career as well.
