Former Australian cricketer Andrew Symonds died in a car accident at the age of 46 about 50 kilometers outside Townsville on Saturday (May 14) night. The year had already seen the demise of two Australian greats, Shane Warne and Rod Marsh, and Symonds now has been added to the unfortunate list. However, Symonds was one of the flamboyant cricketers the world had ever seen.

The right-hander since his international debut in 1998, went on to become one of the vital cogs in the Australian batting line-up and he played a big role in the middle order with some breathtaking innings at times. He also chipped in with a few overs whenever needed and was a terrific fielder anywhere on the ground.
