The cricket fans are in a for a delight when a star studded ICC World XI will take on Windies in a charity T20 game at Lord’s. The one off game will be played on May 31 to raise the funds for the redevelopment of the stadia in the Caribbean Islands which were damaged due to hurricanes last year. Former Zimbabwe skipper Andy Flower has been named as the coach of the multi-starrer World XI side.

As per the recent quotes in Times Now, Andy Flower expressed his excitement on being a part of the setup. He remarked that he has been a part of several World XI sides before. But to see the Indian players and the Pakistani players together in the same dressing room is a different feeling altogether. Flower conceded that it is a wonderful and amazing experience to see so many stars in action under the same roof.

From India, Dinesh Karthik and Hardik Pandya were initially named in the side. Pandya pulled out from the fixture owing to an injury concern. He has been replaced by pacer Mohammed Shami. Meanwhile, from Pakistan, the match will have Shahid Afridi and veteran cricketer Shoaib Malik.

“I’ve been involved in these World XI charity events before as a player, and there’s usually a wonderful feel to it. The feeling is generated because the intent behind everyone’s involvement is for good and you get some really amazing side benefits as well. For instance, here we’ve got Pakistanis and Indians sharing a dressing room which doesn’t happen very often,” Andy Flower quoted.

“This is a wonderful experience and will create wonderful memories for these players and hopefully wonderful memories for the spectators who see really talented exciting players playing against a very talented exciting West Indies side,” he added further.

Here is the World XI Squad for the match:

Dinesh Karthik (India), Mitchell McClenaghan (New Zealand), Thisara Perera (Sri Lanka), Rashid Khan (Afghanistan), Luke Ronchi (New Zealand), Shahid Afridi (Captain from Pakistan), Shoaib Malik (Pakistan), Tamim Iqbal (Bangladesh), Sandeep Lamichhane (Nepal), Adil Rashid (England), Mohammed Shami (India), Sam Billings (England), Sam Curran (England), Tymal Mills (England)
