The much-awaited biopic of legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is set to hit the movie theaters on May 26, 2017. With the release date coming close, the reports had surfaced about the Indian team watching the premiere show of the movie before heading to England for the Champions Trophy. Now, team India Head Coach Anil Kumble has confirmed that he will be missing the special screening.

The producer of the movie Ravi Bagchandka had noted that the Indian team camp is set to attend the special screening on May 24 (Wednesday) evening. The special screening is set to be held in Versova, Mumbai. Earlier, Sachin Tendulkar had carried a special screening of his movie titled ‘Sachin: A billion dreams’ for the armed forces. The cricketers were certainly very much excited to watch the highly anticipated movie.

However, the screening will see one big name missing the special screening. Team India coach Anil Kumble recently took to social media site Twitter to reveal that he will not be able to attend the screening. He posted two updates on his social media handle saying the same. In the first tweet, he cited that he is in London at the moment and hence will not be making for the premiere.

In the second update, he wished Sachin Tendulkar all the luck for the movie release. He also added that he hopes all the players of the Indian team will enjoy the special screening of the movie. Team India is set to leave for England after attending the premiere show. The team will start their title defense against Pakistan on June 4 at Birmingham.

Kumble’s tweets

Anil Kumble tweeted, “Hey @sachin_rt, I’m in London for the cricket committee so won’t make it for @SachinTheFilm premiere. (1/2)”

“Best wishes! I am sure the team & everyone will enjoy it. (2/2),” he added in another tweet.
