Anushka Sharma lauds India and Virat Kohli for perseverance and conviction

After all the speculations, analysis and some riveting cricket, India managed to win the four-match Test series against Australia 2-1. The age-old antagonists have been playing against each other on quite a few instances, but it was only after 71 years when India, under the leadership of the dynamic Virat Kohli, have been able to beat the Aussies in a Test series in their own backyard.

The visitors had the chance of winning even the fourth and final Test, but persistent rain on the last couple of days made sure that Australia managed to evade another probable defeat. Prior to that India racked up 622 runs in their first innings and the hosts were eventually made to follow on. India were dominant throughout the red-ball fixtures against Tim Paine.

India dominate Australia

They won the opening Test at the Adelaide Oval by 31 runs courtesy of a couple of incredible knocks from Cheteshwar Pujara. However, they lost the second Test at the new Perth Stadium by 146 runs on a pitch that produced a significant amount of bounce for the speedsters. Kohli’s men didn’t drop the gun by any stretch of the imagination and won by 137 runs at the MCG.

In the meantime, Anushka Sharma, a renowned Bollywood actor and wife of Kohli, expressed her joy on the team’s victory. The 30-year-old took to Twitter, uploaded a picture and wrote, “They came. They conquered !! History written and created by this bunch !! Huge congratulations to all players, coaching unit and support staff ; (1/2),”

Thereafter, Anushka didn’t miss out on lauding her better-half Kohli for the dedication he showed on he cricket pitch. She uploaded a picture with Kohli holding the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and wrote, “It takes undying perseverance & solid conviction to focus on what’s important and shut out the rest . So so happy and proud of you my love @imVkohli (2/2),”
