AB de Villiers’s decision to retire from International cricket with immediate effect has sent shockwaves into the cricketing fraternity. The way he was playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL), nobody saw this coming. While the sudden reactions after such a huge decision were expected, soon everyone realised that one needed to stand up and applaud the champion over his illustrious career. When the world is waiting for a message from his dear friend Virat Kohli, his wife Anushka Sharma has come up with a wonderful for De Villiers and his wife.

He was recently in India plying his trade in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Both Virat Kohli and he love to play alongside each other and it is no secret that they are extremely good friends. Both admire each other so much and the Indian skipper is always in his awe while batting. Even when he took a fantastic catch to send back Alex Hales, Kohli went on to term him as a ‘Spiderman’.

Anushka’s wonderful message

The Bollywood Diva reflected on how AB de Villiers has managed to make a positive impact on the lives of others while achieving greater heights in his career. She also wished him and his wife Danielle de Villiers a happy life ahead as he will be able to give more time to his family following his decision to bid adieu to the game which he loved the most.

“In life, what we do to positively impact the lives of others has greater meaning than what we accomplish for ourselves. You’ve managed to do both beautifully & always with such grace & integrity. Wishing you & Danielle a blessed, happy life ahead @ABdeVilliers17 @DanielleDV27,” her message read.

His dream of winning the World Cup couldn’t be completed but the man has won the hearts of the fans with the way he played throughout his 14-year career at the highest level.
