The Afghanistan Premier League T20 (APL) witnessed the ball flying over the ropes quite often but the ball did stay longer in the field on Thursday that witnessed the lowest total of the tournament as well. Kabul Zwanan held their nerves in the first game of the day in defending their total of 173/6 as Kandahar Knight finished with 171/7 to suffer their 3rd successive defeat. In the second game, Balkh Legends made only 143/7 in their 20 overs but managed to restrict the Nangarhar Leopards to only 118.

All the major stats and numbers recorded during the 6th day of the tournament:

0/37 – Rashid Khan conceded 37 runs in his four overs in the game against Kandahar. The Kabul skipper conceded only 15 runs in his first three overs but ended up conceding 22 in his 4th over that ended with consecutive sixes by Riki Wessels. In the 15 T20 matches Rashid played in UAE prior to this game, he never conceded more than 28 runs.

3 – Mujeeb ur Rahman has now dismissed Chris Gayle on three occasions across all formats. The off-spinner sent back the Windies opener twice in two meetings in the World Cup Qualifiers earlier this year. Gayle and Mujeeb were opponents in the last year’s BPL game but the Caribbean bagged a golden duck before facing the Afghanistan bowler.

4 – Laurie Evans has scored four fifties in his last five innings in the Twenty20 format. In the previous outing against Nangarhar, Evans walked out to bat with his team needing nine more runs to a win and remained unbeaten on five.

14 – Runs Colin Ingram has aggregated in his last three T20 innings. His scores for Kabul Zwanan in this tournament thus far read: 9, 1 and 4. This is the first time since November 2014 that Ingram has been dismissed under ten in three consecutive T20 innings. Ingram made 3, 0 and 0 in three straight innings in the 2014 Ram Slam T20.

73 – Number of sixes Colin Munro has hit in the T20 matches in 2018. These are the joint-most number of sixes a player has hit in the T20 format in 2018 alongside Aaron Finch.

404 – Runs Mohammad Nabi has scored in the Twenty20 format in Sharjah. The all-rounder featured in 24 games at this venue and has scored those 404 runs at an average of 26.93. Only Mohammad Shahzad (737) has scored more runs than Nabi at this venue. The Afghanistan star surpassed Shane Watson’s 394 runs with the 20 he made against Nangarhar.
