While the Kiwis had a forgettable Champions Trophy campaign last time, they displayed their mettle in the World Cup at home where they managed to end as the runners-up for the first time. This is the only major trophy which New Zealand have managed to win during all their time in international cricket when they won it way back in 2000. They would be looking to make amends this time to get over their semi-finalists and runners-up tags and rise a notch above it.

The team looks quite well versed with plenty of batting and bowling options available. The experienced duo of Martin Guptill and Ross Taylor under the guise of leader Kane Williamson would be looking to foster the batting lineup. All-rounders like Corey Anderson and Mitchell Santner also add a great edge to both the departments. Also with a unique pace attack that consists of veteran Tim Southee, the dangerous Trent Boult, the fiery Mitchell McClenaghan and also the talented Adam Milne, the bowling unit can be a reckoning force for the Kiwis in this Champions Trophy.
