'Are you out of your mind?' - Fans blast Yuvraj Singh after he appeals to donate to Shahid Afridi's foundation for Coronavirus relief

The wrath of Coronavirus has severely affected the lives of lakhs of individuals across the globe. The pandemic has put a halt to all the human activities and several governments have been forced to implement a lockdown in their respective countries. Apart from affecting the human existence, the pandemic has also taken a toll on all major sporting events across the globe.

More than 7 lakh positive cases have been registered and more than 37,000 individuals have succumbed to death due to the pandemic. In this stern situation, several cricketers have come forward to aid in the battle against the coronavirus pandemic. Sachin Tendulkar, Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and many more players have contributed their bit to the Relief Funds.

Meanwhile, former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi is also doing his bit to stabilize things in the neighbouring country. In the battle against the pandemic, Afridi’s foundation– Shahid Afridi Foundation is working to curb down the adverse effect of the covid-19 outbreak in the country. Afridi has been actively involved in distributing rations to the needy people in the crisis.

Furthermore, Afridi had also asked for support from other cricketers in his initiative and many cricketers including Shoaib Akhtar, Wahab Riaz and Fakhar Zaman came in support of Aridi’s noble cause. Former India all-rounder also appreciated Afridi’s efforts and urged everyone to donate their bit to his foundation’s initiative.

“These are testing times, it’s time to lookout for each other specially the ones who are lesser fortunate. Lets do our bit, I am supporting  @SAfridiOfficial & @SAFoundationN in this noble initiative of covid19. Pls donate,” wrote Yuvraj on Twitter.

However, the all-rounder’s tweet didn’t go well with Indian fans, who lambasted him for supporting Afridi’s foundation. The primary reason behind this was Afridi’s past remarks about India, which had enraged many Indian fans in the past.

Considering the stern relations between the neighbouring countries, fans on Twitter were furious at Yuvraj for extending support to Afridi’s foundation, along with urging fans to donate to the same.
