Arjun Nair bags 8 wickets ahead of Pakistan clash

The teen sensation from New South Wales, Arjun Nair, is slowly making a name for himself in Australian cricket. The 18-year old off-spinner has been named in Cricket Australia XI that will take on Pakistan coming week. The warm up game will surely provide great exposure to the youngster.
In a recent two-day match in Sydney Premier Cricket, Nair spun his web against the opposition. He ended up bagging 8 wickets in the innings to make a strong statement. Playing for the Hawkesbury side against Campbelltown-Camden, Arjun Nair emerged with figures of 8/17 in 19.3 overs. The stand out fact was that he bowled 12 maidens in his spell.
The Campbelltown-Camden had a vicious spinner in their line up too – Monty Panesar. The visiting Campbelltown Camden side were cruising at 52/1 in the match. Arjun was brought in as the third change bowler. What perspired from thereon was an absolute one man show. The team lost all it’s remaining wickets in space of just 73 more runs.
They were bundled out for a mere 125 kudos to the herculean effort by the New South Wales lad. Nair bowled well to have 5 of his 8 wickets as lbw dismissals. He got through the defenses of two batsmen and there was opener Mitch Carruthers, who was caught and bowled by Arjun Nair.
Nair later showed his prowess with the bat too. He scored a decent 25 off 34 balls before being dismissed. The second day of the two day match will be played on next Saturday. Nair will miss out on featuring in the second day as he will be in service for Cricket Australia XI. The CA XI will take on Pakistan in day-night tour match scheduled to be played in Cairns. Australia will take on Pakistan in the day-night Test, a week later on December 15.
Nair had emerged as the 5th highest wicket take in domestic One day competition last year. He is already being tipped as a future national player. He has the iconic doosra in his armory too.
