After what has been an impressive tour of Australia, Kyle Abbot has now thrust his focus on the upcoming series against the Sri Lankans. This means that there will be more bowling for Abbott this time around especially given the fact that the Proteas are missing Dale Steyn in the grand scheme of things.

Speaking ahead of the Test, Abbott stated that there were absolutely no problems with the players at the moment as well as the cricket at the moment. He also went on to add that the selection is something that is the last thing on the minds of one and all and is also something that becomes easier since the team was indeed playing well.

“I don’t think anything is secure at this level, unfortunately, or cricket in general,” Abbott said on Friday (December 23). “At the end of the day, we’ve still got to put in performances.

“As long as the team is winning, those selections become easier. It’s a case of putting in the performances and winning games. I will go about like I do every game – probably still having to prove myself – but I will cross that bridge when I get there.”We complement each other so well, which is key,” he pointed out. “Although fairly similar, I think there is quite a bit of variation amongst us. We work well together.

Kyle Abbott also went on to add that the players complimented each other pretty well, something that comes due to the fact that they all work together. “We complement each other so well, which is key,” he pointed out. “Although fairly similar, I think there is quite a bit of variation amongst us. We work well together.

“We look at what the other guy is doing from the other end. It’s not like one of us has to do something and stick to it. It changes through the Test match and through the series.”
