Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer has poked fun at Michael Vaughan for one of the latter’s erstwhile tweets after England lost the third Ashes Test by an innings and 14 runs. On Tuesday, December 28, the Aussies bowled the Three Lions out for 68 in their second innings to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match Test series.
Jaffer dug out one of Vaughan’s old tweets where the latter criticised India for getting bowled out under 100. During the fourth ODI between India and New Zealand back in 2019 at the Seddon Park in Hamilton, the Men in Blue were bowled out for 92 in 30.5 overs. Subsequently, Rohit Sharma and Co. lost the match by eight wickets with 212 balls to spare.
Back then, Vaughan took to Twitter and wrote, “92 all out India… Can’t believe any team would get bowled out for under a 100 these days !!!!!!”
After England faced the crushing defeat in the MCG Test, Jaffer trolled the former England captain. Jaffer took to Twitter and wrote, “England 68 all out @MichaelVaughan #Ashes,”

Vaughan, in the meantime, didn’t forget to send Jaffer a message. He replied to Jaffer and wrote, “Very good Wasim,”

Following England’s loss, their skipper Joe Root was utterly disappointed. He admitted that the Brits let the Aussies off the hook after getting them on the mat during the third Test. He also pledged for the visitors to make a comeback in the last two Tests.
“We’ve been playing in these times for a while now, all you can do is try and front up. Credit to Australia they blew us away. A lot of hard work to do. [Covid] It’s not ideal, I though the way we went about our cricket on the field was excellent. We put them under pressure and were very much in the Test match,” Root was quoted as saying.
“We’ve got to do things for longer, been small pockets but nowhere near long enough. We know the areas we need to improve on. We have to stay strong and look at the next two games to take something from the tour,” he added.
