Bangladesh appoint Sridharan Sriram as new coach before Asia Cup

After appointing Shakib Al Hasan as their new captain, Bangladesh have announced former Indian all-rounder Sridharan Sriram as their new head coach ahead of Asia Cup and T20 World Cup. Sriram, who played eight matches for India, was part of the Australian set-up for a long time.

He was the assistant coach of the Australian team and also the bowling coach of the side. The 46-year-old is also a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore set-up as he currently is the batting and spin bowling coach of the team.

One of the BCB directors, while speaking to Daily Star said, “Yes, we have chosen Sriram up until the World Cup. As we are moving forward with a fresh mindset, the new coach will be seen from the Asia cup onwards. Since the T20 World Cup is our main target, he will not get time to adapt, if he is not recruited from the Asia cup.”
