The Asia Cup 2022 is all set to get underway from the 27th of August in the UAE and 13 T20I games will be played in the tournament which will be of high intensity. India will start as the defending champions after clinching the previous edition in 2018, and they will start their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on the 28th of August.

The multi-nation tournament will feature six teams from the Asian continent divided into two groups and the first two teams will progress to the Super Four stage which will be followed by the finals on the 11th of September. The tournament will kick off with Sri Lanka and Afghanistan battling with each other at the Dubai International Stadium on Saturday (Aug 27).

While India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan qualified directly, the sixth team had to be decided through a qualifier which took place recently. Singapore, Hong Kong, UAE, and Kuwait progressed to the qualifiers and it was the Hong Kong side that managed to win all three games to become the sixth side to make it to the Asia Cup 2022.
