The high-scoring affair at Dhaka will always be considered as one of the most memorable matches played between the arch-rivals. Unlike the above two games, this was not a last-over special but one where a young player made a statement.
Batting first, Pakistan put up 329 runs on the board after 50 overs. The opening pair of Mohammad Hafeez (105) and Nasir Jamshed (112) put up 224 runs for the opening partnership, while Younis Khan scored 52 to help Pakistan to post a massive total.
However, Virat Kohli registered his highest international score in white-ball cricket, scoring 183 runs to counter Pakistan’s massive total. Sachin Tendulkar scored 52 while Rohit Sharma scored 68 to cement a memorable win for India against Pakistan. Kohli won the Player of the Match award for his brilliant performance against a quality bowling line-up.
