Athiya Shetty has an endearing birthday wish for rumoured boyfriend KL Rahul

The rumors of India’s ace batsman KL Rahul dating the Bollywood diva Athiya Shetty have been doing rounds for quite some time now. Though the couple has not admitted to it, their social media posts and comments on each other’s pictures speak a lot. 

The power couple again ignited the rumors of their relationship and gave one more reason for fans to ship them. The swashbuckling batsman is celebrating his 29th birthday on April 18, Sunday. Thus, his supposed lady-love took to her official Instagram handle to pen down an adorable birthday wish for the cricketer.

Athiya shared two lovely mirror selfies featuring herself and KL Rahul while wishing the star player a very happy birthday and mentioning that she is lucky to have him in her life. She captioned the selfies as, “grateful for you, happy birthday.”

The post by the 28-year-old sent the social media in a frenzy as it quickly grabbed the attention of the netizens and they showered love on the post in the form of likes and comments. Many tagged KL Rahul too in the comments section and reacted with a heart emoticon.

Along with Athiya, KL is pretty close with her family too. The same can be deduced by the fact that Athiya’s brother, Ahan Shetty also shared an airport picture with KL Rahul on the gram and wrote, “Happy Birthday.”     

KL Rahul to take the field against Delhi Capitals

KL Rahul will have a working birthday this time around as he will be leading his IPL franchise Punjab Kings (PBKS) against Delhi Capitals (DC) in their third game of IPL 2021 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Thus far in the T20 Extravaganza, Rahul has experienced a decent outing. 

In Punjab’s first game against Rajasthan Royals (RR), the opening batsman emerged as the highest run-getter for his side. He played a sublime knock of 91 runs off 50 deliveries including seven boundaries and five maximums at a strike rate of 182. His heroics in the game propelled the team towards a mammoth total of 221 runs and they managed to win the match by four runs.

However, the second match didn’t go as per the plan for the skipper and the team. The franchise succumbed to an embarrassing defeat against Chennai Super Kings by six wickets with Rahul scoring only five runs.
