Australia declare 15 members squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015: The Cricket Australia selectors have declared the Australian cricket team for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. Mitchell Clarke whose hamstring injury recently threatened to end his flourishing career abruptly looks to be on the perfect rehabilitation regime as he has not only been named in the squad but will also skipper the team in the ICC cricket world cup 2015.
George Bailey has been appointed as his deputy for the mission, where the Aussies will look to regain supremacy they held till 2011. The two have David Warner, Aaron Finch, Steve Smith and Glenn Maxwell to form an atomic batting unit, with some much expansiveness in it.
The team also has three seam bowling all-rounders in the experienced Shane Watson, the finisher James Faulkner and the reliable Mitchell Marsh. These three will have crucial roles to play for Australia in the world cup, as all-rounders add balance to the squad and all the three of them are equally capable with the bat as much as with the ball.
Mitchell Johnson will lead a young, energetic and lethal pace attack comprising Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazelwood and Pat Cummins along with the three all-rounders. The manner and intensity in which they take the attack to the opposition will set the tone for Australia in the series as ODI cricket in the recent years has been dominated more by the bat.
Brad Haddin will keep wickets for the team as the veteran showed that he still remains to be the best wicket-keeper for Australia with acrobatic work behind the stumps against Indian in the recently concluded test series.
Xavier Doherty has been picked as the lone spinner in the squad as they do have Steve Smith to roll over for some Leg spin as and when required.
