Australia vs India: Tim Paine offers Rishabh Pant a BBL contract, a nice apartment and babysitter role

A few days ago, India’s ODI squad was announced for the series against Australia and Rishabh Pant was sidelined for the same. The Aussie captain Tim Paine was at it during the third day’s play as he took a hilarious dig at Pant and also offered him a place in the Hobart Hurricanes team in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL). This wasn’t the end of it as Paine also went on to call the Indian wicket-keeper as ‘Babysit’.

India were struggling in the second innings at 44/5 when Pant walked out to bat in the middle. Having secured a mammoth lead of 292 runs, they were still sitting comfortably and this is when the hosts tried to unsettle the youngster in order to dent the visitors more before stumps. The incident took place in the penultimate over of the day when Nathan Lyon was bowling brilliantly and they sensed an opportunity as the off-spinner had dismissed Pant four out of five times so far on this tour.

You will take care of kids?

The official broadcaster Fox Sports once again decided to hear the comments through the stump mic as Tim Paine got into Rishabh Pant’s ears. Paine reminded Pant that he’s been dropped from the ODI squad for the three-match series by referring to MS Dhoni‘s comeback and suggested him to extend his holiday by playing for the Hobart Hurricanes, his local team, in the BBL.

The Aussie skipper also indirectly invited Pant to his home for the dinner and then to take care of his kids when Paine takes his wife to the movies.

“I tell you what, big MS (Dhoni) is back in the One-Day squad, we might get (Pant) down to the Hurricanes, this bloke. We need a batter. Fancy that, surely, extend your little Aussie holiday, Beautiful town Hobart too. Get you a nice apartment on the waterfront. Have you over for dinner you Babysit? I’ll take the wife to the movies one night and you’ll look after the kids?” Paine was heard saying on the stump mic.
