He had predicted a similar result before the start of the series.

The ongoing Test series between Australia and India is currently locked at 1-1. The third Test which commences on the Boxing Day holds a remarkable significance now as the team winning this game will not lose the series. India botched up their lead in Perth by losing the second Test by 146 runs. However, despite the momentum being with the home side, the former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman believes feels that the team under Virat Kohli can create history come the 2019.
While the Indian captain has once again managed to score runs in abundance, he has got little support from the other batsmen. Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane have been brilliant but they need to be consistent enough for the visitors to dominate. The third Test will most probably decide the fate of the series now but Laxman sounds very confident about the Indian team.
Laxman predicts 3-1 victory for India
VVS Laxman was recently present at the India Today Conclave South 2018 where he was asked about the outcome of the Test series. “India…3-1,” a very confident Laxman responded in a flash. Interestingly, he had predicted a similar result before the start of the series.
“I expect the series to close 3-1 in India’s favour. I don’t see any draws in Australian conditions. I don’t think India would have a better opportunity. And I am not saying so because there is no Steve Smith and Dave Warner. I am saying this because they have the potential. I got it totally wrong in England when I thought India will win 4-1. But I think they have the ability,” he was quoted as saying by Aaj Tak earlier.
Unfortunately, the stats arenot in favour of India as they have only managed to register two and one wins in Sydney and Melbourne respectively in previous 11 visits.
