28 year old Parvinder Awana made entry into the history books for a record which every bowler dreams of. Awana claimed Hat-trick in the game against CSK. Awana scalped Raina, Pawan Negi and MSD in three successive deliveries to achieve the distinction. Awana finished up with 4 wickets in his 4 overs spell for 30 runs.
It was repeat of IPL semifinal, when CSK and Kings X1 Punjab met for the second semifinal of Champions League T20. Kings X1 won the toss and opted to field. CSK were not allowed a free flowing start by Kings X1 bowlers. Awana cleaned up Smith in 3rd over of the game. Perera picked up Mccullum in the next over. Awana struck again in the 6th over to pick up dangerous Raina. By the end of 6 overs CSK were reduced to 41 for 3.
When Awana returned for his next spell hepicked up Pawan Negi first ball. He was cleaned up by a perfect Yorker from Awana. MSD came up next but was gone for a golden duck as the ball stooped after pitching and ball was ballooned to short midwicket region. Interestingly nobody in the field including Awana himself celebrated for the Hat-trick giving an impression nobody realized the feat as first wicket came in the last spell.
CSK scored 182 for 7 with Bravo top scoring with 67. In response, Kings X1 were struggling for 24 for 4 at the time of writing with Bailey and Miller left for rescue.
