India registered an emphatic seven-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the second T20I at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on February 26. Not only did this victory help the Rohit Sharma-led side in sealing the series but they also ended up winning their third straight bilateral series in the shortest format under Rohit’s captaincy. Chasing a stiff target of 184, Shreyas Iyer and Ravindra Jadeja got the job done for the hosts with over two overs to spare.

While Iyer anchored the run chase, it was Jadeja’s cameo in the middle overs that demoralised the Sri Lankan bowlers as he went on to score a quickfire unbeaten 45 runs off 18 deliveries. Even though the Gujarat cricketer was the star performer of the contest, former all-rounder Irfan Pathan has lately come forward to have some fun at his expense.

Irfan Pathan teases Ravindra Jadeja in hilarious style

It so happened that during the virtual post-match press conference, Ravindra Jadeja interacted with the reporters by thanking skipper Rohit Sharma for backing him after he had lived up to the latter’s expectations with the bat. Nonetheless, while he was speaking to them, the 33-year-old was seen blinking his eyes continuously.

When this came to Irfan Pathan’s notice, he took to Twitter and shared the media interaction from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)’s official Twitter handle, and hilariously wrote ‘Baapu needs eye drops’.

Things did not end there as Jadeja acknowledged Irfan by thanking him for his suggestion and at the same time, the duo was also involved in hilarious banter. Replying to Pathan, Jadeja informed that he was wearing lenses for the very first time to which the veteran all-rounder jokingly said ‘As the batting goes on, it seems that binoculars are worn. Keep it up Bappu’.

Meanwhile, apart from his heroics with the bat, Jadeja had also picked up the wicket of a well-set opener Danushka Gunathilaka to finish with figures of 1/37 from his four overs at an economy of 9.3.

Coming back to the second T20I, Shreyas Iyer remained unbeaten on 74 off 44 deliveries and was adjudged the Player of the Match. With the series in the bag, a spirited Team India would now be eyeing a fourth consecutive home limited-overs series whitewash in the third T20I at the same venue on February 27.
