Babar Azam’s father urges PCB to use his son’s match fees for Bisma Amjad’s treatment

Pakistan captain Babar Azam’s father, Azam Siddiqui, has urged the Pakistan Cricket Board to treat women’s cricketer Bisma Amjad with his son’s match fees, which he received in the T20 World Cup 2021 match against India in Dubai. The 18-year-old Amjad copped a blow on the head during a practice session after which the youngster was taken to the hospital.

The PCB said Amjad suffered the concussion during a women’s training camp at the Sindh Regional Academy. She has reportedly been vomiting for the last three days. She remained under observation and the neurosurgeon said that if the Karachi-born Amjad doesn’t stop vomiting, she would have to go through another scan.

Babar Azam’s father reaches out to Ramiz Raja

Babar’s father, in the meantime, has requested PCB chairman Ramiz Raja to use his son’s fees to take care of Amjad’s well-being. He dropped a post on Instagram to make the request.

“I request PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja to immediately make arrangements for national cricketer Bisma Amjad’s treatment. If a person wearing Pakistan’s star [on their uniform] is helpless, then it means that the nation is helpless,” Babar’s father was quoted as saying.

The PCB, also shared a tweet, updating on the women cricketer’s health and wellness. “The PCB, as a responsible organisation is continuing to look after her wellbeing as well as treatment expenses,” the PCB wrote.

As per PCB’s official website, Amjad is a right-handed batter and a right-arm off-break bowler. She has played for PCB Strikers and Northern Renegades in her career.

As far as Babar is concerned, the Lahore-born has had a great time in the T20 World Cup. Pakistan have four matches in a row and have made their way through to the semi-final of the mega event. To start with, they beat India after which they got past New Zealand, Afghanistan and Namibia.

Their last Super 12 match is against Scotland on November 7 in Sharjah. Babar is fifth in the list of leading run-scorers in the tournament. The right-hander has scored 198 runs at an average of 66 and a strike rate of 124.53. Under his leadership, Pakistan have looked unstoppable in the World Cup.
