Pakistan’s batting sensation Mohammad Rizwan is one of the most likeable characters in the game. The 30-year-old celebrated his birthday earlier this month as wishes poured in from all parts of the globe for the star batter. India’s Cheteshwar Pujara was also among the names to have wished the batter, and he has finally received a reply from Rizwan, 23 days later.

Earlier this year, the wicketkeeper-batter showed tremendous application in county cricket, where he played alongside Pujara for Sussex. The duo also shared a record 154-run stand during one of their outings. The Pakistani star later even confessed his admiration for Pujara’s concentration levels on the pitch. The pair share a unique bond on and off the pitch, and it was evident when Pujara shared a picture of the duo on the eve of the Pakistani batter’s birthday.

The birthday tweet from Pujara read “Happy birthday @iMRizwanPak! Have a fabulous year ahead.” The man from Peshawar finally responded to the Indian star’s wish, “Thank you, brother. Wish the very best for you in every aspect of life. @cheteshwar1.

Rizwan will be an integral part of a relatively inexperienced Pakistani side touring Sri Lanka

After a successful series against West Indies in the ODIs, the right-hand batter has rejoined county side Sussex and is participating in the ongoing T20 Blast tournament. He will be rejoining the national team next month as the Pakistani team will be touring Sri Lanka for a two-match Test series in July.

The star batter will be featuring alongside skipper Babar Azam against the Sri Lankans. The last time his side travelled to the island nation of Sri Lanka, they won the Test series 2-1 on the back of an impressive performance by Yasir Shah, who returns to the squad for the upcoming series.
