The passionate cricket fans will fasten their seat belts as the IPL 2022 is set to kick-off on the evening of March 26 as the last edition’s finalists Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders lock horns at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Both teams will be led by new captains. While star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will be leading CSK, KKR will be captained by India middle-order sensation Shreyas Iyer.

Speaking of captains, they seem to have a gala time ahead of the commencement of the marquee tournament.  They were seen trying to show off their team’s strengths in a funny banter which was posted by the Indian Premier League (IPL) on their official Twitter handle just hours before the curtain-raiser.

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and others try to asert their dominance in a funny video

Taking to the micro-blogging site, the IPL posted a video of all the participating captains trying to pull each other’s leg in this hilarious segment. The video starts with LSG skipper KL Rahul smiling during what was supposedly a video meeting before his MI counterpart Rohit Sharma joins and says, “Arre pehle aap, pehle aap karke tum hi aa gaye sabse pehle?”

While the two try to take their conversation forward, Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya joins and says “Gazab toh hum hi machayenge,” before sharing a hi-five with Rohit. DC and RCB skippers Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli also join as KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer follows.

Referring to Iyer, Kohli says “Lo naye Badshah bhi aa gaye?” to which the middle-order sensation replies in Pushpa style, “Badshah naya ya purana nahi hota. Usme fire hamesha hota hai. Na jhukega, na rukhega?”

Meanwhile, CSK’s new captain Ravindra Jadeja, SRH skipper Bhuvneshwar Kumar and his opposite number from PBKS also join the fun. Nonetheless, what really stood out the most at the end of the commercial is that of wrist-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal showing up instead of RR captain Sanju Samson.
