Bangladesh announce their Twenty20 squad to face Pakistan: Bangladesh have announced their 14 member squad for the one-off Twenty20 International against Pakistan. After their 3-0 whitewash in the ODIs, Bangladesh mean business in the lone Twenty20 match as they rested only one big name from their squad.

Uncapped duo of batsman Litton Das and left-arm fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman were included in the Bangladesh squad led by Mashrafe Mortaza for the Twenty20 match. Das has replaced Mominul Haque while pacer Rubel Hossain has been rested to be fresh ahead of the Test series and is replaced by Rahman.

Faruque Ahmed, the Bangladesh chairman of selectors, said that Rahman’s inclusion might come as a surprise for the fans but Das was in their radar for a long time. HE also said that Rahman is a thinking bowler and has some variations under his sleeves. Ahmed also confirmed that Rubel has been rested for the Test series.

Speaking to the media while announcing he squad, Ahmed said Mustafizur’s inclusion may come as a surprise to some but he has impressed during his time with the Under-19s and the A team. He is an intelligent bowler with good variation which is required in T20 cricket. Besides, being a left-arm seamer he gives us a different option. Litton has been under our radar for a while now and he has the runs behind him in first class and list A cricket. He is one for the future. We have decided to rest Rubel in order to keep him fresh for the Test series as he is our main strike bowler.

19 year old Rahman made his first-class debut only in April 2014. He has a whippy action and bowls fairly quickly. He could well make his debut for Bangladesh against Pakistan in this match.
