Bangladesh left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak and his family members suffered injuries during a road accident in Gopalganj on June 27. Thankfully, they are in stable condition after initial treatment and are recovering in the hospital. According to reports, Razzak was travelling with his family from Khulna when their vehicle met with an accident. However, the injuries are said to be ‘not serious’, and the Bangladeshi cricketer seems to be out of danger.

Further reports claim that he was driving the vehicle when the incident took place. He was along with his wife and two-year-old son, and his nieces and older sister were also in the vehicle. When a tire punctured, the cricketer apparently lost control and the car fell into a canal by the side of the road. Everyone present in the vehicle suffered some minor injuries and were then assisted by local police.

Mushfiqur Rahim urges fans to pray for Razzak

Bangladesh Test skipper Mushfiqur Rahim shared a message of concern and requested Bangladesh fans to send in their good wishes for the cricketer. He took to Facebook on Tuesday night and wrote, “Our very own Razzak Raz bhai had a severe accident on his way from Khulna. I request you all to pray for him please!!!”

The 35-year-old is the third-highest ODI wicket-taker for Bangladesh and one of the only three Bangladesh bowlers who has bagged more than 200 wickets in the 50-over format, along with Mashrafe Mortaza and Shakib Al Hasan. He was last seen at the international arena for Bangladesh on August 27, 2014, in the lone T20I while Bangladesh were touring the West Indies.

He is also the long-serving captain of Khulna Division in the National Cricket League and of South Zone in the Bangladesh Cricket League. He even captained Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club in this year’s Dhaka Premier League.
