With England skipper, Eoin Morgan still uncertain about the tour, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chairman Nizamuddin Chowdhury has gone on to give 100% security assurances to the players who will be travelling along with the support staff affiliated with the England cricket team and the England Cricket Board as well.
Earlier, Test skipper Alastair Cook confirmed that he was indeed happy and satisfied with the necessary arrangements made by the Bangladesh security personnel as well as the board itself. Speaking at a press conference, Chowdhury said that he hoped that the ECB would do all they could to send over their best squad for the series, something that would certainly add to the competitiveness of the event.
“We just hope they will send the best available squad, which we expect to be competitive,” Chowdhury told AFP.
The chairman also went on to add that a few countries who had been reluctant to go ahead with the tour had toured and faced not ‘distractions’ in terms of security arrangements whatsoever. Using this as a case study, Chowdhury went on to add that additional measures in terms of security were indeed being put into place by the BCB to ensure a smooth series.

“As you, all know some countries had expressed their concern during that tournament also. But we successfully managed to convince them to come here and hosted the tournament without any incident.
“England will be given the same security as we had during the tournament when additional measures were put in place,” he said without elaborating.
Bangladesh cricket has been on the rise over the past year or so. Their well-documented rise has coincided with some of their players being awarded contracts to ply their trade overseas in different skill-based capacities. However, with the security threat looming large at the moment, it seems as though Bangladesh could potentially face a similar exile such as Pakistan is facing at the moment.
