The Bangladesh cricketers are expected to sport black armbands in the game against India. This would be with respect to the memory of the passengers who lost their lives in a plane crash in Kathmandu, Nepal. Skipper Mahmudullah Riyad confirmed the same ahead of the T20I against India.
A couple of days earlier, a US Bangladesh Airlines flight BS-211 took off from Dhaka. However, the plane crashed at a football ground near the Tribhuvan International Airport. Reports suggested at least 50 people died in the crash out of which 32 were Bangladeshi residents.
Bangladesh cricketers express their grief on Twitter
Bangladesh cricketers mourned the loss of lives in the crash. Some cricketers including skipper Mahmudullah, Mustafizur Rahman and Tamim Iqbal posted their condolences on Twitter.
The Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah wrote, “Really feeling sad for the passengers who were inboard Flight BS211. Who passed away, May Almighty Allah grant them in the best place of heaven and may the survivors of this horrific crash recover fast. #WeMourn”
Mustafizur Rahman also expressed his grief at the moment. “We mourn about the horrific plane crash in Nepal. Praying for the survivors so that they can make a fast recovery and may Allah accept the departed souls with ease. #WeMourn,” he tweeted.
Tamim Iqbal also expressed his sympathies to the families who lost their loved ones. “Heart goes out to all the passengers and the families on board Flight BS211. May Allah accept them with ease and may the survivors of this horrific crash recover fast. You all would be in our prayers.”

While India began with a loss to Sri Lanka, they came back with comprehensive wins against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the next two matches. On the other hand, Bangladesh went on to chase a 215-run target following their astounding loss to India. It promises to be an exciting contest at the R Premadasa Stadium on March 14.
