Bangladesh PM ensures new home for teenage sensation Mehedi Hasan

Mehedi Hasan Miraz like any other aspiring international cricketer had this dream of representing the national team some day but didn’t expect the opportunity to come that early in his life. At 19 Mehedi Hasan has played just 14 first-class matches and someone might call it a bit too early for him to be making his Test debut but he was called-up in the team for the two-Test series against England and he not only made his debut but left an impression that will last.
He ended the series with 19 wickets in two Test matches, has the best bowling match figures of 12/159 which he recorded in the second Test of the series. His bowling exploits bamboozled the English batsmen and he led the charge for the home team as they defeated England in the second Test to level the series.
Mehedi was in the spotlight and the layers of his life thus far started to unfold, it was then that the world learnt that this sensational teenage spinner comes from a very humble background. His family that lives in Khulna are of Bangladesh doesn’t own a permanent house and life in a dilapidated tin-roofed structure that has two rooms which are shared by the four members of the family.
Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has now decided to construct a new home for the cricketer in his hometown. The PM has already directed the concerned authorities in this regards. The officials are now looking for a suitable location and once it is identified the construction will soon get underway.

Mehedi was received by his friends and fans as the champion returned back home after ensuring the national team a famous victory against the oldest Test team. “I am very happy with the love I am getting from everyone. It has surpassed all my expectations. The love from the people here has led to my triumph and I will respect their expectations going forward,” Mehedi was quoted as saying by The Daily Star.
“Today my local organisation — including Kashipur Cricket Academy and the Club Association of Khulna — will give me a reception,” Mehedi added.
