The Bangladesh squad returned home this afternoon after playing the only Test against India in Hyderabad which they eventually lost by a big margin of 208 runs. Despite losing the match, the Bangla tigers showed resilience to take the match into the 5th day. After putting up nearly 400 in their 1st innings, they batted for more than 100 overs even in their 2nd essay but it wasn’t enough to give them a draw.

Despite the whole squad returning home, captain Mushfiqur Rahim is still in India. According to reports Mushfiqur will fly to Delhi to get some brand new bats from his bat sponsor. He is scheduled to head back home tomorrow. While opener Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudullah headed straight to Dubai to join their respective PSL teams, Shakib returned home but will leave for Dubai tomorrow to join his franchise.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh coach Chandika Hathurusingha also headed back to Sri Lanka and will join the team in Dhaka for the first training session prior to the series against Sri Lanka starting on 24th February. It will be yet another demanding series for Bangladesh away from home with little time to recuperate.

Despite the full tour itinerary not being announced, it is expected that Bangladesh will leave for Sri Lanka on 27th February to play two Tests, 3 ODIs and 2 T20I’s against the island nation. Their departure might be delayed by a day depending on the availability of flight.

The Tigers have played some inspiring cricket off late and went on to beat England for the first time ever in their Test history very recently. The visitors are set to play a two-day warm-up game prior to the Test series starting in Dambulla on March 7. Following the two Tests, they will play 3 ODIs followed by the T20I’s which will conclude the month-long tour. They are scheduled to return home on 8th April.
