Playing XI:

Afghanistan: Mohammad Shahzad(w), Nawroz Mangal, Rahmat Shah, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Samiullah Shenwari, Asghar Stanikzai(c), Mohammad Nabi, Najibullah Zadran, Rashid Khan, Mirwais Ashraf, Dawlat Zadran

Bangladesh: Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Mahmudullah, Mushfiqur Rahim(w), Shakib Al Hasan, Sabbir Rahman, Mosaddek Hossain Saikat, Mashrafe Mortaza(c), Mosharraf Hossain, Shafiul Islam, Taskin Ahmed

Toss: Mashrafe Mortaza has won the toss and Bangladesh are batting first. Bangladesh has made two changes – Mosharraf Hossain returns in place of Taijul Islam and Shafiul Islam returns in place of Rubel Hossain in the other change. Left-arm spinner Mosharraf will be playing in his first ODI in more than eight years.

Captain’s speak:

Mashrafe Mortaza:

“We definitely have the confidence and belief to win the series. I don’t think that one defeat will end all the work that we have done and all our achievements so far. We were all obviously disappointed but that doesn’t mean that we have forgotten all the good work that we have done. It was a bad day. If we think about that when we get on the field it will be difficult for us, so we are trying to get on the field with a free mentality.”

Asghar Stanikzai:

“In the last one year, Afghanistan cricket has been improving. Before him [Rajput], Inzamam-ul-Haq did very well as our coach. He is asking us to play positive cricket against each and every team. He tells us to take everything positively. He is also working on our batting. He is teaching us how to play 50 overs, play till the end and concentrate on singles.”

Afghanistan has a golden opportunity to claim a historic win in their first ever bilateral appearance in Bangladesh. The series has witnessed a see-saw competition thus far.

The two previous games of the series were absolute thrillers. The Bangladeshis won the first match narrowly while Afghanistan made a superb comeback and levelled the series. They will be high inspired and motivated to clinch the series. Bangladesh, on the other hand, has the advantage of familiarity of the playing conditions.

Unfortunately, it won’t be possible for Indian fans to catch the live action on TV. However, the live streaming of the match is available on the web.
