Australia successfully squared the 2-match Test series against Bangladesh after defeating the home side in the 2nd Test at Chittagong by 7 wickets. Nathan Lyon picked up six wickets in the 2nd innings following up his seven-wicket haul in the first innings to wrap up the home side for 157. Australia chased down the 86-run target set by Bangladesh for just three wickets.

Here we look at all the stats and records created during the day’s play.

2 – Chittagong is the 2nd Test venue where Shakib Al Hasan has scored 500+ runs and taken 50+ wickets. He had done the double in Test cricket at Dhaka as well. Only Ian Botham and Imran Khan have done the double at two different venues.

3 – Nathan Lyon has taken a 5-wicket haul in his last three innings in Test cricket. He is the first Australian spin bowler to take 5-fer in three consecutive innings since Shane Warne in 2004 in Sri Lanka.

5 – Number of 5-wicket hauls for Nathan Lyon in Asia in Test cricket in 2017. He is the 2nd visiting player after Shane Warne (2004) and the 10th player overall to take five or more 5-fers in a year in Asia.

13/152 – Nathan Lyon became only the 2nd visiting player to take 13 wickets in a Test match in Asia. Ian Botham took 13/106 against India in 1980 at Mumbai.

22 – Nathan Lyon’s 22 wickets in the series are the joint 2nd most for any player in a 2-match Test series. His tally is also the highest for any player in a 2-match series outside home.

58 – Steven Smith’s highest in this series is 58. This is the 2nd lowest ‘highest score’ in a Test series for Smith. His highest score during the 2010 Ashes was 54*.

1955 – Gil Langley was the last Australian wicketkeeper to effect as many as three stumpings in a Test before Matthew Wade in this game. He executed three stumpings in the 1955 Test against West Indies at Georgetown.

1968 – The last non-Asian wicketkeeper to effect three stumpings in a Test match before Matthew Wade was England’s Alan Knott in 1968 against Australia at Leeds.

2004 – Last Australian before Glenn Maxwell who scored the winning runs with a six in a Test match was Ricky Ponting in the 2004 Boxing Day Test at Melbourne against Pakistan.

2005 – Nathan Lyon is the first spinner to receive a Man of the Series award in Test cricket since Shane Warne in the 2005 Ashes series. Brad Hogg in the 2006 Bangladesh ODI series was the last Australian spinner to receive the Man of the Series award in any format.

2010 – Mustafizur Rahman is the first Bangladesh pacer to take five wickets in a Test match at home since Shahadat Hossain’s six wickets in Chittagong Test against India in January 2010.
