Bangladesh will be in a ‘Do or Die’ situation when they take the field against Pakistan in the 2nd and final Test match at Dhaka. In the first rubber, the hosts were hammered by their opponents by 8 wickets.

Bangladesh were having the upper hand at the end of the 1st innings in the 1st Test, and led the Pakistan side by 44 runs. However, they let their chance slip away with a poor show in the 2nd essay. Bangladesh were bowled out for just 157 in their 2nd innings, with Shaheen Afridi ripping through their batting lineup and scalping a five-wicket haul.

Abid Ali then stepped up for the Pakistan side with a superb 91, as the visitors chased down the target of 202 with ease. Bangladesh are facing some problems as they go into the 2nd Test. The Bangladesh top order crumbled in both innings of the 1st Test, and this is surely a cause of concern for the hosts.

For Pakistan, the openers performed a superb job in the 1st Test. The Abid Ali-Abdullah Shafique duo put on a partnership in excess of 100 runs in both innings, and this proved to be a decisive factor in swinging the match in favour of the Pakistan side.

The Pakistan pace bowling attack also looks menacing. Hasan Ali scalped a superb five-wicket haul in the 1st innings, while Shaheen Afridi took 5 wickets in the second. So, the Bangladeshi top order definitely needs to put up a better show if the hosts want to challenge their opposition. Will Pakistan make it 2-0, or will the hosts make a strong comeback after the drubbing they received in the 1st Test?

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch at the Shere Bangla Stadium in Dhaka will surely aid the spinners. The ball will grip as the match progresses, and the batters will have to build their innings, and play the waiting game to score runs.
