Bangladesh and West Indies are set to play the second of the 2-match Test series from 11th February at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. West Indies registered a historic win in the first Test when they chased down a mammoth target of 395 runs in the fourth innings. Debutant Kyle Mayers turned out to be the hero for them in that match scoring unbeaten 210 runs off 310 balls in the fourth innings. 

Bangladesh also had few positives in the first match with captain Mominul Haque and Mehidy Hasan scoring centuries. They will be without the services of Shakib Al Hasan in the second match who has been ruled out due to an injury.

Let’s look at important stats and numbers before the start of the second Test between Bangladesh and the West Indies:

3 – In the four Test series played by West Indies in Bangladesh, they have won 3 of them. If West Indies defeat Bangladesh in the second Test, it will be their first series win in Bangladesh after 2012.


105 – Kyle Mayers has so far scored 250 runs in the first two innings of his Test career. If he is successful in scoring more than 105 runs in the first innings of the second Test, he will break the record for scoring the most runs in the first 3 innings of Test career. Tip Foster of England currently holds this record, who scored 355 runs in the first 3 innings of his Test career.


2 – Mehidy Hasan Miraz has so far taken 98 wickets in his Test career. He needs two more wickets to become the fourth Bangladeshi cricketer to take 100 Test wickets. Shakib Al Hasan, with 210 wickets, is the highest wicket-taker for Bangladesh in Test cricket.


26 – Bangladeshi captain Mominul Haque completed his 3000 Test runs in the first Test. He needs 26 more runs to overtake Habibul Bashar, and become the fourth-highest run-getter for Bangladesh in Test cricket. Mushfiqur Rahim with 4469 runs is at the top spot in this list.


34 – Liton Das needs 34 more runs to complete 1000 runs in Test cricket. He has so far scored 966 Test runs in 21 matches for Bangladesh.

177 – Captain of West Indies team Kraigg Brathwaite needs 177 more runs to complete 4000 runs in Test cricket. Brian Lara with 11953 runs is the top run-getter in Test cricket from West Indies.

134 – Jermaine Blackwood needs 134 more runs to complete 2000 runs in Test cricket.

153 – Shannon Gabriel has so far taken 153 wickets in 51 Test matches. He needs 9 more wickets to surpass Ian Bishop in terms of Test wickets.
