Bangladeshi fan travels over 400 Km to meet his hero, Mustafizur Rahman

Cricket is one of the most popular sports in the world. In the subcontinent, especially in India, it is looked upon as a religion and the star players are looked upon as demigods. In Bangladesh, as well, the craze for cricket is huge.

It is the fans that make a cricketer into a celebrity. And in Bangladesh, the fans’ unique love for their favourite cricketers know no bounds. One such Bangladeshi fan, recently, travelled over 400 Km to meet his favourite cricketer, Mustafizur Rahman.

Mustafizur, who is one of the rising stars of the Bangladesh cricket team, is currently staying with his family to celebrate Eid at Satkhira. He rose to fame by winning the Man of the Match award on his ODI debut and then followed it up with another Man of the Match award on his Test debut. Recently, injury problems have hindered his progress, but he is still very much young and has time on his side.

The fan in question is Rajib Wahid Ron, who works as a Manager at the Banglalink Customer Care & Sales Centre Chapainobabganj. When he got a chance to meet his hero, he did not take any half measures. He travelled from Chapainobabganj to Satkhira district, a distance of more than 400 Km just to meet Mustafizur. He knew that meeting his hero in Dhaka was next to impossible and hence, decided to travel the distance without any hesitation.

It was almost like a dream for the fan

Speaking to bdcrictime, Ron revealed how ecstatic he was after meeting his hero. He said that it was almost like a dream for him.

He said, “The feeling of meeting my favourite cricketer, who is my favourite person as well, can not be expressed in words. Mustafiz bhaiya sat down beside me, looked at me and smiled. All these things were like a dream to me.”
